Terms of Service
Kinrally Terms of Service: household accounts and child profiles, shared content, AI feature disclaimers, Vault limits, affiliate disclosure, billing, accessibility, dispute resolution, and liability.
Last updated: August 16, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Kinrally mobile application and related services (collectively, the “App” or “Service”) provided by Core Layer Development LLC, doing business as Kinrally (“Kinrally,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By creating an account, joining a household, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service. Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference and explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information.
1. Acceptance
By downloading or using the Kinrally app for iPhone, iPad or Android, you agree to these Terms of Use. Kinrally is operated by Core Layer Development LLC. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. Our Privacy Policy is part of these Terms.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Kinrally on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial family use, in line with the App Store Terms of Service and Google Play Terms of Service.
3. Accounts
Kinrally requires an account with a valid email address. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and you're responsible for keeping your password secure, for protecting your family code, and for activity under your account. Children may participate as members of a family group created and supervised by a parent or guardian, but may not create their own accounts. Features that send a request to an outside business are restricted to adult profiles.
Your family code is what grants access to your household's synced data, and it is also used to derive the encryption key for your Documents Vault. Treat it like a password and share it only with people you intend to give full access to your household.
4. Plans, pricing and billing
Kinrally is free to use, with no ads and no sale of personal information. A free household includes 1 GB of shared cloud storage.
Kinrally Plus
Kinrally Plus is priced at $3.99 per month or $39.99 per year and includes 25 GB of household storage, two-way Google, Apple and Outlook calendar sync, Documents Vault cloud backup and encryption, nearby store alerts, 3 AI credits per billing cycle, and AI meal planning included.
Extra storage
Storage add-ons are priced at $0.99/month or $9.99/year for +50 GB and $2.99/month or $29.99/year for +200 GB. Storage is shared by the whole household — one upgrade covers every family member.
Billing, renewal and cancellation
Paid plans are sold and processed only through Apple's In-App Purchase and Google Play Billing, and we never collect, see or store your card details. If a plan is offered with a free trial or an introductory price, the length of that offer and the price it renews into are shown before you confirm the purchase — we only advertise a trial when the store is actually offering one. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same term unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings — not in Kinrally.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end the term you've already paid for. Your household keeps every Plus benefit until the end of the current billing cycle, and Plus ends when that cycle finishes without renewing. There's no need to time a cancellation carefully — cancel on day 2 or day 29 of a month and you keep Plus until the same date either way.
Purchases are final. We don't offer refunds, partial refunds or credit for the unused part of a term, and cancelling mid-cycle isn't prorated. Because Apple and Google collect every payment, we never hold your money and can't issue a refund even if we wanted to — any refund is theirs to grant under their own policies and under the consumer rights you have where you live.
Prices may differ by region and by store, and we'll give notice before any change to a price you're already paying.
Storage limits
The app shows a live storage meter and warns you at 85% of your household's limit. If a household reaches its limit, new uploads (photos, videos, voice notes, vault documents) may fail until you free up space or add storage. We will not delete content you've already saved just because you reached the cap. Only you can delete your household's files.
AI credits
AI trip itineraries run on credits. Free households receive one lifetime trial credit. Plus households receive 3 credits per billing cycle, and unused credits roll over up to a maximum balance of 6. An itinerary costs 1 credit for trips up to 7 days, 2 credits for 8–14 days and 3 credits for 15 days or more, with one free regenerate per itinerary until you save it. The AI meal planner allows one lifetime plan on the free tier and is included with Plus. AI flyer scanning is limited to 3 free scans per device.
We also sell one-time credit packs (for example 5 credits for $2.99). Credits have no cash value, are not transferable between households, and are not exchangeable for money. Credit packs are one-time purchases and are final — we don't refund them. If Apple or Google grants a refund under their own policies, or where your local consumer rights require one, the credits that pack granted are removed from your household's balance; if you've already spent them, the balance stops at zero and never goes negative. Credits belong to the household, do not expire while the account is active, and are forfeited if the account is deleted. Manual planning — meals, trips and lists — is always free.
Nearby store alerts
Nearby store alerts are part of Kinrally Plus. The feature is off until you turn it on, requires location permission, and matching happens on your device — see the Privacy Policy for details.
5. Freeing up space
The app includes a Free Up Space screen listing everything your household has stored, largest first, so you can remove what you no longer need. Any member can delete files they uploaded, and the household's primary member can delete any file in the household. Files uploaded before this feature existed have no uploader on record, so only the primary member can remove those. Deleting is permanent, applies to everyone in the household, and cannot be undone.
6. If Kinrally Plus ends
If your subscription lapses or you cancel, we do not delete anything you have already saved, even if your household is storing more than the free 1 GB allowance. Your files stay in place, and viewing, downloading and exporting are never blocked, whatever your storage total. Storage add-ons end with Plus, and the same rule applies — nothing already saved is removed.
For 15 days after Plus ends, your household keeps the storage limit it had, so you have time to free up space or export files before anything changes. After that, new uploads are paused until your household is back under the free 1 GB allowance or you resubscribe.
This 15 days window is separate from Apple's and Google's own billing grace periods. If a renewal simply fails — an expired card, for example — the stores keep your subscription active while they retry, and Kinrally treats your household as a full Plus member for that entire time.
7. Your content
You own the content you create in Kinrally — lists, recipes, journal entries, messages, photos, videos, voice notes and vault documents. By sharing content with your family group, you give us permission to transmit and store it solely to deliver it to your family members and provide the features you're using. We claim no other rights to your content, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't use it to train AI models.
Content you share with your household is jointly held by that household. That has a practical consequence worth stating plainly: deleting your own account does not by itself erase the household's shared lists, chores, budget entries or conversations, because they are also your family members' content. The "Termination and deletion" section explains the choices you get — including removing your name from those records without deleting them — and the Privacy Policy sets out exactly what deletion removes.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for anything unlawful, harmful or abusive;
- Share content in family or community spaces that is threatening, harassing or infringes others' rights;
- Attempt to access other families' data or interfere with the sync service;
- Use the parent directory or invite features to send unsolicited bulk messages, or to look up people who haven't given you their email address;
- Upload content you have no right to share, or another person's identity documents without their permission;
- Reverse engineer or redistribute the app.
The Documents Vault is intended for your own household's records — identity documents, insurance cards, and similar. Storing sensitive documents belonging to people outside your household is not an appropriate use of it.
9. Family groups and connections
Family group creators are responsible for who they invite with their family code. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children's use of the app within their family group. Connecting with another parent is always mutual — either side can disconnect at any time — and you can connect with an individual parent without linking your whole households.
10. Third-party content, retailers and service providers
Event listings and imported recipes come from third-party websites. We don't control and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy or availability. Always verify event details with the organizer before attending.
Kinrally may link you to retailers, booking sites and local service providers, and those links may earn us a commission or referral fee at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. We are not the seller or service provider, we don't guarantee any price, availability, licensing, workmanship or outcome, and any purchase, booking or contract is strictly between you and that business. Please verify licensing and insurance before hiring anyone.
Where the app shows several booking or retail options, it shows you the available options and you choose — Kinrally does not silently route you to a preferred partner. Sending a quote request to a service provider always requires your explicit consent, shows you the fields being shared first, and is limited to adult profiles.
11. AI features
Three features send data outside the app: the AI meal planner, the flyer scanner and the AI trip itinerary planner. Each one shows you a disclosure naming the specific data it will send and the companies that will handle it, and does not proceed until you agree. Requests are relayed through Rork, routed by the Vercel AI Gateway and generated by Google's Gemini model. You can withdraw your agreement at any time under Family → AI & Privacy. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
AI-generated meal plans, trip plans and scanned flyer details are suggestions and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Always confirm dates, prices, allergens and other important details yourself. AI output is not professional advice — medical, dietary, legal, financial or otherwise. Do not rely on an AI meal plan to keep someone safe from an allergen; verify every ingredient against the product itself.
12. Service availability and data
We may update, change or discontinue features (including the sync service) at any time. Family chat messages auto-delete by design on the schedule set for each conversation, and family chat is not end-to-end encrypted — don't use it for passwords or financial account numbers. The Documents Vault encrypts your files on your device before upload, but it is a convenient encrypted backup rather than a zero-knowledge safe, as the Privacy Policy explains. Please don't rely on Kinrally as your only copy of important information or documents.
13. Termination and deletion
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting your account in the app (Family → My Profile → Delete Account), at kinrally.com/delete-account without signing in, or by deleting the app.
Deletion is irreversible. It always removes your sign-in credentials, signs out every device and removes your parent directory listing. Because your household's shared records belong to your family members too, the deletion screen lets you choose what happens to them: leave them untouched, replace your profile with "Former member" so your family keeps their records without your name attached, or erase the household's shared data entirely. Deleting the app removes the data held only on your device. Unused AI credits are forfeited.
We may suspend access to the sync service for abuse or violation of these terms.
14. Disclaimer & limitation of liability
Kinrally is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including lost data, a missed reminder or notification, reliance on AI output, or any dealing with a retailer, booking site or service provider you reached through the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and we'll change the effective date above when we do. If a change is material, we'll give notice in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Kinrally after a change means you accept the updated terms.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Before filing a claim, please email us — most issues are resolved quickly and directly.
17. Dispute resolution and arbitration
Please read this section carefully. It affects how disputes between you and us are resolved, and it limits your right to go to court or take part in a class action. It also gives you 30 days to opt out.
15.1 Talk to us first
Most problems are solved with an email. Before starting arbitration, you agree to send a written description of the dispute and the relief you want to support@kinrally.com, and we agree to do the same for you. Give us 60 days to try to resolve it. Neither side may start arbitration before that period ends.
15.2 Agreement to arbitrate
If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and Core Layer Development LLC agree that any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to Kinrally or these terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, and not in court. The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, by a single arbitrator. The arbitration may be held in the county where you live, by telephone or video, or through written submissions — your choice. The arbitrator's decision is final and may be entered as a judgment in any court with jurisdiction. This agreement to arbitrate is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act.
15.3 What is not covered
Either of us may still:
- bring an individual claim in small claims court, if it qualifies; and
- ask a court for an injunction to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
15.4 No class actions
Claims may be brought only in your individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not preside over any form of representative or class proceeding. If this paragraph is found unenforceable as to a particular claim or request for relief, that claim or request will be severed and heard in court, while the rest of this section continues to apply to all other claims.
15.5 Costs
AAA's Consumer Arbitration Rules govern how filing and arbitrator fees are allocated. Where those rules require you to pay a filing fee for a claim of $10,000 or less, we will pay it for you unless the arbitrator finds your claim frivolous. Each side otherwise bears its own attorneys' fees, except where a statute or the arbitrator's award provides otherwise.
15.6 Your right to opt out
You can decline this arbitration agreement. Email support@kinrally.com within 30 days of first accepting these terms, with the subject line Arbitration Opt-Out, and include the email address on your account. Opting out costs you nothing, changes nothing else about your account, and we will not treat you differently for it. If you opt out, disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Opting out of this section does not affect any earlier arbitration agreement between us.
15.7 Jury trial
Except as set out above, you and we are giving up the right to sue in court and to have a trial before a judge or jury.
15.8 Changes
If we materially change this section, we will give notice in the app, and the change will apply only to claims arising after it takes effect.
18. Accessibility
We are committed to making Kinrally usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities, and we work toward Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA on our website and Apple's and Google's platform accessibility guidance in the app. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and some parts of the Service — including third-party content, integrations and content created by household members — may not yet fully conform.
We do not warrant or guarantee that the Service is or will remain free of accessibility barriers, and nothing in these terms or in our Accessibility Statement creates a guarantee of a specific outcome or an admission of noncompliance. If any part of Kinrally is difficult for you to use, or you need information in an alternate format, email accessibility@kinrally.com with the page or screen involved and the assistive technology you use. We aim to acknowledge reports within 5 business days and to provide a remedy, an alternative way to access the information, or a timeline, within 30 days. Please give us that opportunity to resolve the issue before pursuing a formal claim; unresolved accessibility disputes are governed by the dispute resolution and arbitration section above. Full details are in our Accessibility Statement at kinrally.com/accessibility.
